  • How do we get referrals? The majority of our boys are referred to us from State of South Carolina child-care agencies.
  • How do I get a child admitted?
If you are seeking  a private placement placement for a child, please click
here for a downloadable application form. The application can be filled out on your computer.  When completed, please e-mail it to Nikki Lindsey at  nikki.lindsey@boyshomeofthesouth.org.  If you do not have access to a computer, you may fill out the form and mail it to:  Nikki Lindsey, Boys Home of the South, 10612 Augusta Road, Belton, SC 29627. You will be contacted by telephone to verify receipt of the application and to set up a pre-placement interview. When you come for your interview, you must print out the form and sign it where indicated and bring it with you.  We cannot accept children for placement without a hand-signed application! Please note that any placement without a referring agency will be considered a private placement and will be billed at our daily rate.
  • How is the Boys Home of the South funded?
Boys Home of the South contracts with the Department of Social Services of South Carolina and legal custodians to provide care for the boys.  However, this is never enough to provide all of our quality services.  We, therefore, must rely heavily on donations from many caring individuals and companies who believe in and support our mission.
  • Are boys in care offered opportunities for spiritual guidance, growth, and development?
Absolutely. The Boys Home of the South encourages each child to be actively involved in his spiritual growth and development from whatever spiritual tradition he may come.  The Experiencing God Team leads in our chapel service every Tuesday night.
  • Is the Boys Home of the South a "locked-down" facility?
No. The Boys Home of the South operates on a former farm in rural Greenville County, South Carolina, approximately 30 miles from the city of Greenville. While access to our campus by the public is restricted by policy, no child is placed in lock down.  Every-day living is in a homelike setting.
  • Where do the boys go to school?
Our boys attend nearby public schools.
  • How long do boys stay with you?
Our programs are designed to require a minimum of a six-month stay. Boys may stay longer, as needed, to complete their treatment goals.  Some young men may stay until transition to adulthood.
