We are delighted to have volunteers who help us in many areas at the Boys Home of the South. Our current volunteer opportunities include tutoring after school, working with the horse program, aiding the teacher in the Charles Aiken Academy during school hours, helping in our office which includes categorizing donated items and clerical help, organizing in the clothes closet, and other opportunities that happen on an as-needed basis. Also, we invite you to volunteer using your special skills and talents to enhance a boy’s life. If you can teach a skill, give art or music lessons, work with crafts, or any special talent you can share -–give us a call!

 

As with all agencies that work with children, we must have you fill out our Volunteer Information Form before involvement with the children. We ask, if possible, that you bring this completed form to the Boys Home and talk with Susan Spitzer, Volunteer Coordinator, about how you would like to help. Adopt-a-Project: We need your help with special projects at the Boys Home of the South. If you personally can volunteer, get your Sunday School Class or a group from work to help us on a specific project, it is so greatly appreciated! Some of our projects are painting the office hallway, small building projects, Boy Scouts, taking a group of boys on an outing, sponsoring a picnic or pizza party, and many more one-time needs. Every child deserves to feel special and appreciated, especially on their birthday. Right now we have a very special need for people to join us in seeing that we can make this happen for the children here at the Boys Home of the South. At this time we have several very faithful volunteers who bring birthday cakes and send cards for the boys on their birthdays and for this we are so thankful. However, we have no funding available at this time to be able to give them even a small gift to honor them on their special day.

Please prayerfully consider helping us provide each boy with a gift to open on his birthday. If you are interested in this exciting new program, you can send a donation and designate it specifically for the "Birthday Fund." As always, we are so grateful to all of you who help us make a difference in the lives of these children!
